AFTER the success of both Albaston Race and Albaston Fete last month, a presentation evening was held on Saturday where the grand sum of £3,500 was distributed to this year?s nominated charities.

The presentation took place at the Queen?s Head in Albaston whose landlord Peter May was responsible for raising more than £1,000 by his sponsored slim.

Cheques were donated to Calstock Cricket Club, Cornwall Independent Care and Support, Woodside Animal Welfare Trust, Cornwall Wildlife Trust, Callington School music department, Stoke Climsland Women?s Football Club and St Ann?s Chapel Football Club.

Albaston Fete committee chairman Richard Taylor and Delaware School head Jo Grail presented the cheques during an evening of wine and music.
