Tavistock Colts 14 Ivybridge Colts 41 DESPITE the scoreline, this game was close until the last quarter when the Tavistock pack ran out of steam and the fresh legs of the many Ivybridge replacements took their toll. The half-time score was 14-15 to the visitors after some scintillating running from centre Cass Williams and Sam Smerdon. Alex Moy at stand off and Danny Thompson at scrum half provided the early ball to set up these attacks, but, as the supply dwindled, the opportunities to win were gone. No 8 and skipper for the day, Dave Vince, had a fine game as did Sam Lawson in the second row. Despite giving away weight and height to the other second row, Ben Wadland both took his own ball and poached the opposition?s ball. Three of the four second half Ivybridge tries were the result of tired tackling. Smerdon?s two tries, both of which he converted, were the result of quick thinking and justified his award of man of the match.
