THE Devon Heartlands Community Forum and U3A Okehampton are inviting people from the local community to take part in a question and answer event with local MP Mel Stride.

The event is designed so that anyone from Okehampton or the surrounding area can come along and listen to Mr Stride, the MP for Central Devon, give the community an update on his first year in Parliament, as well as take part in a question and answer session.

Mr Stride was elected as an MP for Central Devon at the 2010 general election, having been chosen as the prospective Conservative candidate for Central Devon in June 2006. He studied at Oxford University, where he was elected as President of the Oxford Union.

The Q&A session takes place tomorrow (Friday) from 5pm to 6.30pm at the Ockment Centre. The community forum and the U3A warmly encourage anyone with questions for Mr Stride to come
