AS we set off on our two-month long 550 mile charity trek along (and up and down!) the French Pyrenees, may we take the opportunity of thanking those of your readers who have already sponsored us. We are funding all the costs ourselves, so all the monies raised will go directly to the excellent work undertaken by Hospiscare and the Children?s Hospice South West. Already, more than £3,000 has been raised. In other words we shall be ?earning? at least £60 on each of the 50 days we shall be trekking. We would love to more than double that sum by the end of our challenge in mid-August - that would put a real spring in our step! We plan to send back photos and reports on our progress. These will go on our m,website at http://www.godfreytreks.co.uk">www.godfreytreks.co.uk The site also offers the chance to send us messages and directs visitors to a page where they can make a donation. Alternatively, donations can be sent to Pyrenees Walk, c/o Vicky Lachenicht, Hospiscare, Dryden Road, Exeter EX2 5JJ. We are committed to this walk now and know we cannot return until it is complete ? our house is full of rent-paying tenants (another source of fundraising) and we would have nowhere else to live!
