TAVISTOCK Town Hall was coloured purple on July 4 as a fundraising event for Pancreatic Cancer Action was held in memory of Paul Harris, who died from this, the UK's fifth biggest cancer killer, which has only a small survival rate.

The PCA charity has purple as its representative colour and while not the biggest cancer charity it certainly aims to have a loud voice.

Organised by Paul's sister Jean Keast, the party was very well attended and widely supported by local people and firms, raising a brilliant £2,296.63.

'It was a brilliant night' said Jean. 'So many businesses supported us, and it looks like this will have been the first of many events.'
