PUPILS?at Lifton Primary School enjoyed an exciting week during November when they looked at different aspects of design and technology.

The key stage 1 children created amazing robots from recycled cardboard, and used some simple circuitry to give them flashing eyes. Children in years 3 and 4 designed and created sandals using felt, and the children in years 5 and 6 designed and built chariots which they then raced.

John Fraser, head of design and technology from Launceston College, also bought some of his pupils along to assist with making LED torches.

Victoria Kinger, the organiser, said: 'DT week is a perfect opportunity for our pupils to use a range of skills in a fun way, from carrying out research, following instructions and using their creativity to creating a finished product'.
