PRIMARY schools in West Devon are being invited to take part in an innovative competition to design a new logo with an environmental theme. A fleet of new recycling vehicles has recently been introduced and the winning logo will grace their bonnets, spreading the waste related environmental message all over the borough on a daily basis. Focsa, the council?s contractors, will present their £200 cash prize to the school with the winning design in the new year. It is hoped the competition will have a two-fold effect ? bringing out the creative talents of the children and strengthening the reduce, re-use, recycle message. The council?s recycling education officer, Andrew Barron, said: ?This is a great little project and gives our children some ownership of their future ? they are always really keen to be involved in anything that helps our environment. ?We are expecting a huge response and then we will have a very difficult decision to make.?
