pupils at Lydford Primary School celebrated their Galactic-themed Book Week with the help of professional playwright Shiona Morton.

She helped the children create and develop performances based on a visit from an alien called Morris and a trip back to his home planet Ula Gar.

The children in class 2 said it was great fun and they enjoyed writing and acting out their own scenes. Class 1 children enjoyed pretending to be different characters and exploring the spaceship.

'It was fantastic to see children from as young as four using their imagination to create a whole new world,' said Barbara Earnshaw, literacy co-ordinator.
