ROWERS from the Tavy and Tamar Gig Club are busy training for the world championships using a newly acquired flash boat.
Weir Quay on Saturday and Sunday mornings sees the ladies? and men?s teams training with club rowing coach George Firk.
The club?s own Cornish pilot gig is still under construction, but should be ready for launch soon ? in the meantime, members are using the smaller flash boat and a special ?bank tub? to improve rowing techniques.
Eighteen club rowers are expected to travel to the Isles of Scilly in May for the world championships.
