YOUNG and old throughout West Devon did their bit for the BBC's Children in Need appeal last Friday, dreaming a huge variety of weird and wacky ways to drum up charity cash.

From sponsored car washes to fancy dress events and head-shaves, the day belonged to the appeal's mascot, Pudsey Bear.
