RESIDENTS living near the site of a proposed wind farm will have the opportunity to find out more about wind energy at a public exhibition being held in Bow today (Thursday).

Renewable Energy Systems (RES), who have submitted a planning application to site an anemometer mast, a device which measures wind speed, at Den Brook, North Tawton, are staging the exhibition in Bow Parish Hall.

The company says the exhibition will be an opportunity for people to find out more about wind power, meet staff and environmental groups, ask questions and find out about the environmental studies being undertaken.

Rachel Ruffle, RES engineer said they will welcome comments from the public and will be providing a questionnaire to consult people on their views about renewable energy.

Mrs Ruffle said she expected the public meeting to be the first of many opportunities for the local community to air their views on the proposal.

As well as representatives from RES, Greenpeace, Friends of the Earth and DARE will also be present.

The exhibition runs from 11am to 8pm.
