A TAVISTOCK pub is set to reopen this week after a flood forced the bar to close. The Market Inn on Whitchurch Road was flooded between 1am and 6am on December 1 after water came through from a washing machine in the upstairs flat. ?Water poured through the ceiling of the pub, then right down through into the kitchen below,? said owner Colin Hunter. ?The pub has been refurbished and we hope it will be ready by the end of this week. In all, we had about five gallons of water come through. If people had not got up early, it could have been a lot worse. It?s been quite a struggle.? Mr Hunter expressed thanks to landlady Katie Roberts and bar manager Tom Bradbury for all their hard work during the refurbishment.
