OWNERS of a West Devon pub were pleased to have received two awards recently.
The Harris Arms in Portgate was successfully selected in a top ten category by the Good Pub Guide as 'One of the Top Ten Wine Pubs in the UK'.
The gastropub has also gained a special mention from Alastair Sawday, in his book the Special Pubs Guide, which has listed the Harris Arms as 'one of the top 30 great English pubs for summer eating'. The pub was chosen as one of the top 30 for its 'wonderful, rich, rolling views'.
The user-generated website Trip Advisor also rated the Harris Arms with four stars.
Proprietors Andy and Rowena Whiteman were delighted to win such prestigious awards, which can be added to their list of respected titles, including a mention in the Michelin guide, and an award for the 'Devon Life Country Pub of the Year'.
