AN excellent letter from Anita Bowden of Harrowbarrow (Times, February 19) concerning The Wharf Car Park. My sister and brother-in-law visit Meadowlands six mornings a week for seven months of the year and always park for no longer than one hour —the short-sighted idea of an all day £2 charge is crazy. Incidentally, all has gone very quiet on the possible closing of this excellent swimming pool, also the wonderful facilities available at Harewood House Day Centre and Residential Home. Let us hope that this silence is golden and sanity prevails. It would be two cuts and two closures too many! Tony Smith Lydford l See story page 3
