TAVISTOCK is a wonderful place. With further development we are in danger of destroying its unique character.

The Core Strategy proposals are the last straw. The rail link is a nice idea if it goes to the right destinations, even so I fear it will be a financial 'millstone'. I can't see why 750 homes are needed to accommodate the estimated increase in population and these will prove a white elephant, I feel sure.

As for the proposed road across the valley, it would be an act of vandalism. Who is expected to pay for all this in these straitened times? Clearly you and me. (The European Union is a Red Herring).
