ON behalf of the Lamerton Parish Hall Committee may I express my sincere thanks to Geoffrey and Jeannie Cox of Willestrew House, Lamerton, for so very kindly opening up their lovely house to us on Saturday April 24 for a wine and cheese evening with auction of promises.

Over 100 people attended with a total of £1,200 being placed in the Lamerton Sports and Community Centre Project account.

Special thanks must also go to James McInness, who acted as auctioneer, Alex Porter who provided excellent music on her harp, the various local businesses and individuals who pledged promises for the auction and the many, many people who attended and helped in any way to make it such a successful and enjoyable event.

This was the first big fundraising event of the new financial year. Having successfully achieved the £10,000 target set for last year it is particularly encouraging to see that support for the project is as great as ever!
