AN Auction of Promises organised by students from Okehampton College's sixth form has helped raise money for charity.
A total amount of £560 was raised by the event which will be divided between a range of charities.
A small amount will also go towards the Year 13 leavers' summer ball. One of the chosen charities is the Send a Cow appeal which puts donations towards sending a farm animal to a Third World country to benefit a family.
The sixth form also held a charity lunch which was supported by staff and students and raised £175.
The money is being put towards supporting sixth form students who are attending a trip to Bulgaria to work with The House of Rachel. The project's aim is to help young orphaned children.
The sixth form regularly holds charity events, which are organised by members of the committee made up of students in Years 12 and 13.
