WESTDEN, the West Devon Environmental Network, have produced their annual report outlining the progress of the environmental projects they have undertaken in the last 12 months.
The eight projects include Getting There, a youth transport scheme; the sustainable communities and sustainable food projects; the Waste Not, Want Not recycling project and the Ley of the Land youth training scheme. WestDEN have also liaised with partner projects in India and Southern Ireland on a rural links project.
In the report, the group say they have had a difficult year, especially following the foot and mouth outbreak. However, they have successfully bid for Objective 2 European funds to secure the future for several projects.
The charity, which runs local projects supporting sustainable development, is now in its seventh year.
lWestDen's seventh annual meeting will be held at the Jubilee Hall in Chagford on September 23 at 3pm.
There will be delicious refreshments provided by the Courtyard Café, a chance to see Proper Job's new premises and plenty of exciting things for children and adults to do.
WestDEN ask people to let them know if they need a lift or car share with someone else to attend the meeting. For details, telephone Lez or Pat on 01822 618068.
