THE Nurturing Excellence Project celebrated its first anniversary recently and held a special event at Duchy College, Stoke Climsland, for staff, students and employers to enjoy the successes of the past 12 months.
Angie Shepherd, Nurturing Excellence co-ordinator, said: 'The Nurturing Excellence Project is about raising the profile of the food industry and supporting young people into sustainable jobs in the food and farming industry across Devon and Cornwall.
'Through this project we have worked with food businesses and schools by offering career presentations, workshops and internships, and will continue this work to provide young people with high quality information, advice and guidance on food industry opportunities.'
Students who completed the first Nurturing Excellence internships during the summer were also presented with certificates and special awards in recognition of their achievements and spoke about their experiences.
