IT is with regret that the trustees of The George
Appeal have to announce that they are having to stop
the milk bottle top collection that has been so well
supported over the past four months.
Unfortunately problems have arisen with disposal of
the tops.
It appears that the trustees were given conflicting
information from firms approached regarding
recycling of the tops and many of them are now not
willing to take the them.
We are pleased to say that one firm has very kindly
offered to take the tops that we have collected so far,
approximately 1 ton, but this is a one off offer.
As you can imagine we are extremely disappointed
with this development and as trustees we would like
to thank your for readers for collecting the tops on
our behalf and supporting our venture.
Their efforts have been very much appreciated.
