PRINCETOWN is preparing for a bumper carnival this month with a host of activities.

The event will include dog agility and obedience demonstrations, a carnival parade and a scarecrow competition.

The carnival runs from 10am until late on Saturday, August 28. The event, organised by the Princetown Community Fund, will also include a car boot sale, a family dog show, music workshop with Plymouth Youth Junk Band, fairground rides and side stalls, and an all-day barbecue.

Events will be held on the football field, in the centre of the village, at the rear of the Railway Inn, at the Plume of Feathers and at the fire station. In the evening there will be a disco and live band at the Plume of Feathers, with the grand draw at 9pm. The fire station will be open from noon.

The theme of the carnival parade is ?Princetown Pastimes? and floats and walking entries are welcomed. Entries are also invited for the scarecrow competition and the car boot sale.
