WITH the turn of the year the excitement for the London Olympics continues to grow, particularly at Okehampton Primary, where pupils had a visit from two engineers who helped to design the Olympic Stadium.
Two engineers from Buro Happold, the firm behind the construction of the stadium, spoke to pupils about how the structure was engineered and built, before they had a go at building their own Olympic structures in a design challenge.
The engineers were impressed with all the designs put forward, and chose three winning designs from Year 6 pupils.
