Bodmin Trophies Duchy division 3
Queens Rangers 6
Mary Tavy 6
MARY Tavy made the long haul to Indian Queens only to see a four-goal advantage disappear.
The first half saw Tavy dominate with goals from Alan Grylls, Sam Pridham, Dan Brockington and an absolute screamer of an opener from Andy Pedrick.
Queens didn't know what had hit them and the feeling was that there was more to come. This turned out to be so true but not exactly as everyone predicted: Queens pulled one back on the stroke of half-time with a headed goal unmarked from a corner.
At 4-1 at the break, and another soon to follow from James Philpotts, the game was surely won. Then came the turn of events: a cracking goal from outside the area made it 5-2 and it was game on again.
At this point Queens ran the show with Tavy looking at each other in disbelief as goal after goal went in and they saw the game fall away.
In a lengthy period of extra time, Tavy saw themselves empty handed as they were 6-5 down and only a brave thunderous header from Sam Pridham helped them take one of the three points that should have been theirs.
