Tavistock A 6 Okehampton 1 TAVISTOCK seconds hockey team entertained Okehampton for the last match of the season ? although this game was only a friendly pride was still at stake for both sides. Tavistock, not at full strength, took the initiative and Cooley Jnr opened the scoring. It was not long before Jones added a second. Tavistock?s forwards made use of the space they were allowed and put the Okehampton defence under constant pressure. The visitors controlled the midfield and from a rare attack on the home side?s goal managed to beat goalkeeper Osborne. The third goal was scored by Mackintosh following a well worked short corner. The first half had been dominated by Tavistock and the second half proved no different. Okehampton tried to get back into the game but to no avail, with three more goals by Holland, Barrat Jnr and Mackintosh Tavistock had won the game. Tavistock have enjoyed one of their best seasons, finishing fourth in the league and no doubt will be pushing for promotion next season.
