BERE Alston Utd FC held their annual presentation evening on Sunday, which incorporated a barbecue at Bere Alston school.

The proceedings were opened by the club president John Simpson, who introduced the new club chairman Joe Moorat to the players and parents.

Mr Simpson then introduced the club's special guest of honour, Ian Leonard from the Devon County Football Association

The respective club managers then made their end of season speeches: under 11s manager: Cathy Hull; under 15s manager; Alan Bruce; Senior's manager, Carl Gatcum.

Under 11 awards: club man, Jonathan Walker; improved player: Luke Viggers; players' player, Steven Lake; manager's player, Matthew Edmonds.

The team also won three trophies this season: Ray Pink Cup runner-up — this final was played at Home Park; Sporting Cup, which was voted for by all the Plymouth teams; Little League Award, this shield is an award made by the league for teams showing determination, effort and staying power.

Under 15 awards: Club man, Matthew Howard/James Aggiss; improved player Andrew Kelly/Richard Hall; players' player Tom Stenning; manager's player, Tom Bruce/Rob de Silva.
