CHARITY cash raised from a national film premiere in Callington will be presented at a Christmas craft fair in the town this Saturday. The one and only showing of 'Conspiracy of Silence' in the town hall in September was a sell-out, raising £770 for charities Macmillan Cancer Relief and the Children's Hospice South West. A controversial film about celibacy and the Catholic church, John Deery's first movie was partially made in Callington but never released in the UK. The cheques will be presented to representatives from the two charities by Callington Portreeve Andrew Long and reporter Alison Stephenson from the Times, who was instrumental in obtaining permission to show the film in the town. This will take place at 11am during a Christmas charity and craft fair in Callington Town Hall which runs from 9am to 1pm. More than 30 stalls will be there on the day.
