HIGHAMPTON Pre-School's weekly visits to the primary school have been judged a success by Ofsted at a recent inspection.
The pre-school children have been visiting the primary to share lunchtime and afternoon activities on Wednesdays.
The inspector's report highlighted that the 'strong links developed with the local primary school further help to encourage and promote children's learning and development.'
Seven children between 3 and just under 5 visit the school and take part in storytime alongside older children, before enjoying a range of indoor and outdoor activities.
Headteacher Sandra Barnett said: 'We are thrilled that the Wednesday visits to the primary school have been judged good by Ofsted.
'The children really enjoy their afternoon at school, mixing with the older children and using the facilities that the school has to offer.'
Jeanette Neale, pre-school chair, said: 'Having school dinners or packed lunches with the schoolchildren is fun and a good start to the afternoon's activities.
'The children are very relaxed about school — they enjoy the company of the older ones and get to know all the staff.'
