SOMEONE ran over my cat two weeks ago in Chapel Lane. In spite of the fact that he or she left her almost dead at the side of the road and she dragged herself into the hedge and lay there for ten hours in the freezing cold she will survive. There is no way the driver wouldn?t have known he or she had hit her ? it?s right under a light and she was thrown into the air. She has a broken pelvis, broken tail (to be amputated) and for the first time today she was able to use her bodily functions. This was the life and death decision, without them she would have had to be put down. Thanks to emergency treatment by the vet and now the dedication of the Animal Hospital she is at least in with a chance. She never stays out at night and was actually on her way home a mere 25 yards away. I can forgive the driver for hitting her, cats do not have a lot of road sense, but I can?t forgive the fact that they left her. She has a long way to go but I?m sure my lovely Poppy will make it, she is only two years old and hopefully has years left in her. She will be lame, but at least alive. I don?t know who the driver was. I just hope it never happens to them or theirs. Pat Middleton 6 Church Close Horrabridge
