WEIR Quay Sailing Club has been holding its third Frostbite dinghy race over a figure of eight course on the River Tamar in warm October sunshine and light airs.

Rob Brereton and John Tomlinson in the Wayfarers 'Popple' and 'Final Chance' had a good start fighting for position up to the first mark, followed by 'Legless', 'Ruff n' tumble', 'Gentle Jane' and 'Arisk'.

Popple and Final Chance had close racing over the four laps with good spinnaker runs up-river. Over the last lap Popple forced Final Chance onto the mark, giving Rob Brereton the lead to the gun.
