Duchy Premier St Blazey 1 Gunnislake 0 PLAYER manager Andy Southcott returned to play his first match for several months and keeper Andy Brenton was also available for the first time since early this year. But Andy Brown, Dean Martin and Stuart Wakenshaw were all injured. Gunnislake were the better team in the opening 45 minutes and created several good chances but poor finishing was to prove costly. The second half was a complete turn around as Saints were the better team and scored on 70 minutes through a well struck 20 yarder. Shortly afterwards Gunnislake were reduced to ten men. From here on the visitors tried hard to get back in to the match but, not helped by their numerical disadvantage coupled with a number of players being ineffective, it was the home side who always looked threatening and created scoring opportunities. Gunnislake need to rediscover the discipline and application that served them well in the 10 match unbeaten run that they achieved before Christmas if they are to halt their recent indifferent form. Saturday away to St Newlyn East for a 2.30pm kick off in the league.
