A PONY had to be rescued by specialist firefighters on Sunday, after getting trapped between a wall and a fence in Princetown.

A passer-by called the fire service, reporting that the pony was trapped upside down near the leat on Two Bridges Road.

Two fire engines from Princetown and Yelverton and the specialist rescue team from Camel's Head attended the incident.

The fire crews managed to cut the pony free using small tools.
