THE result of the election for Tavistock Town Council (north ward) on August 31 saw Andrew Hutton, independent, elected, with 328 of the votes.

The overall turnout of the election was low with only 20.09% of the 3,826 electorate coming out to cast their vote.

Peter Evans, independent, was runner-up with 292 votes, and Conner Kearey, independent, was third with 143 votes.
