HER Majesty the Queen has approved the appointment of Central Devon’s MP to the privy council.

Mel Stride MP, alongside Laurence Barwell, the MP for Croydon Central, has been appointed to the privy council. The privy council is a formal body of advisers to the sovereign of the United Kingdom. Its membership mainly comprises senior politicians, who are present or former members of either the House of Commons or the House of Lords.
