RESIDENTS in East Cornwall are being invited to discuss policing and young people in their communities at a meeting of the Caradon Community Network Panel next week.

People in the Caradon Community Network area can quiz the Police and Crime Commissioner’s office about its work and learn more about Young People Cornwall’s Your Way project at the panel’s meeting on November 3.

The meeting will include an update from the Police and Crime Commissioner’s office and the opportunity to take part in a question and answer session about its work. Community development worker Ffion Stanton from Young People Cornwall will also be in attendance to brief the panel on the Your Way project for 11 to 19-year-olds.

There will also be local updates from Cornwall councillors, a chance for parishes to share their experiences of developing neigh-bourhood plans and an opportunity for members of the public to speak.

Cornwall Councillor for Callington Andrew Long, chair of Caradon Community Network Panel, said: ‘I would invite everyone to come along and learn about the work of their Community Network Panel.’

Cllr Long continued: ‘The meeting will include time for people to ask questions about local matters and share their views, plus a chance to meet Cornwall, town and parish councillors.’

Caradon Community Network Panel meets every two months to discuss matters that affect the local area and to agree priorities that can be delivered by Cornwall Council and partners such as the police and health services. Some of the areas that community networks focus on include anti-social behaviour, economic development, the environment, co-mmunity planning, regeneration, con-servation, community safety, transport and highways issues.

Caradon Community Network Panel includes all five Cornwall councillors for the area and representatives of the parishes of Callington, Calstock, Linkinhorne, Pillaton, South Hill, St Dominick, St Ive, St Mellion and Stoke Climsland.

The meeting will take place on Thursday, November 3 from 6.30pm to 9pm in the council chamber at Callington Town Council’s offices. The agenda and more information about the panel are available on www.cornwall.gov.uk/caradoncna

The meeting is open to the public and everyone is welcome.
