POLICE are renewing their appeal for information following a suspected hit and run traffic collision at Lifton in which a cyclist was seriously injured.

The incident occurred at around 5.20pm on November 5. The 64-year-old male cyclist was found lying in the road at the junction of Yeat and Darkey Lane.

The cyclist had been travelling in the direction of Lifton having come from the Polson direction.

He was taken to Derriford Hospital where he was treated for his injuries.

It is suspected that a vehicle had collided with the bicycle and subsequently failed to stop.

A man was seen to leave a vehicle, stopped in the Yeat junction, walk up to the cyclist return to his vehicle and then drive off in the direction of Yeat.

Police are appealing for anyone who either witnessed the collision or has any information regarding the identity of the vehicle driver to contact them on 101, quoting police reference 684 051111.
