POLICE in Okehampton are trying to put drug dealers 'out of business' and are asking for help from the public to give information about possible offenders.
Officers from the Okehampton Neighbourhood Team carried out a Misuse of Drugs Act warrant at an address in North Tawton on Monday March 19.
A non-functioning growing set-up was found that officers said had clearly been quite substantial.
Cannabis to the value of more than £1,600 was found and police are waiting to speak to a local man about the matter.
PC Matthew Evans at Okehampton Police Station said: 'We are working very hard in our area to put drug dealers out of business. This cannot be done without the support of our local community and I ask that people are vigilant.
'It is the information from local people that enables us to take action against drug dealers and growers and I am always happy to hear from members of the public who want to tell us about this.
'Let's put drug dealers out of business.'
Anyone wanting to inform the police about drugs in their area should contact them on 101, or via Crimestoppers on 0800 555111, or speak to a police officer in person and in complete confidence.
