TWO teenaged men were arrested by police on Friday last week, in connection with an alleged theft of lead from the roof of a West Devon church.
Police were called to St John the Baptist Church in Horrabridge at 1am on July 8 after reports of the theft.
On arrival, two men made off from the scene, but following a search involving the police dog unit, the men were arrested nearby. A quantity of lead which had been removed from the church roof was found in the churchyard.
The two men, both aged 18 and from the Plymouth area, were interviewed at Charles Cross Police Station and have been released on bail until September 29.
