NORTH and East Dartmoor Vintage Working Society's annual working day takes place on Sunday, September 23, not Saturday, September 22 as stated in last week's Times.
Engines start at 10.30am and throughout the day, many vehicles and implements will be working or on show.
The event takes place at Gooseford Farm, between Whiddon Down and Sticklepath, and will be signposted from the A382 and A30.
l JOYCE Brockman will host her 13th annual coffee morning for Macmillan Cancer Support on Friday, September 28 in Fairplace Church.
Joyce's husband John died 14 years ago and was cared for by Macmillan nurses. Since 1999, she has raised around £10,000 for the charity by taking part in the World's Biggest Coffee Morning. At last year's coffee morning she raised £1,000.
The event takes place from 10am to noon, with cakes, gifts and refreshing drinks for sale.
l ST James' Chapel will play its part in the International Day of Peace on September 21.
Visitors are invited to enter the church and light a candle, listen to some music, read a prayer and watch a five-minute video about Peace One Day, the not-for-profit organisation that raises awareness of Peace One Day.
Founded in 1999 by the British documentary filmmaker Jeremy Gilley, Peace One Day led a successful campaign to pass a UN resolution recognising Peace Day as a day of global ceasefire and non-violence. The day has been marked every year on September 21 since 2002.
All are welcome.
