GUNNISLAKE Cricket Club's annual presentation evening held at the Tavistock Arms was well attended, with a mixture of players, other members, relatives and supporters.
The main awards were: Saturday batting Andy Astley, (average 80.75) Saturday bowling Dan Bartlett; evening batting Sam Boundy; evening bowling Jon Hoskin; most improved player Luke Southcott; most catches Sam Boundy. Best young player and players' player Harry Southcott.
There was a very relaxed atmosphere and as well as the traditional awards, Saturday captain, Andy Astley, came up with several of his own amongst them were 'best left hander' (Kevin Veal – he was the only left hander!).
The chairman, Kevin Veal, presented flowers to tea lady Emma Astley and to scorer Di Hugo and thanked them both for all their help during the season.
Gunnislake Cricket Club will be holding the annual meeting on Friday, October 30, starting at 7.30pm at the Tavistock Arms. All existing members are requested to attend and anybody interested in joining the club are also welcome to attend.
