The main theme of Lifton School's annual activities week this year was 'Around the World'. The children carried out a number of exciting activities — all aimed at developing their understanding of the different countries and cultures of the world.

One of the highlights was the Brazilian Samba parade. Children dressed in their brightest clothes, and a visiting Samba teacher gave lessons to all the pupils. The children worked hard to make carnival masks, and at the end of the day there was a colourful parade around the school grounds, accompanied by drums.

The week ended with an open day when parents came in to watch and help with lots of different activities, including forest school, Mexican clay modelling, cooking exotic dishes, dancing, African drumming and African softball. The day ended with a barbecue, quiz and cake sale organised by the Friends of Lifton School and everyone had a wonderful time.
