LAST week saw another example of a completely avoidable tragedy on one of our local roads. A man lost his life. Three children lost their dad. The downfall of this man? A motorcycle built for excessive speed used on a public highway. This time of year, our roads become some kind of race track to bikers and us motorists are told to 'think bike'. Maybe if these bikers 'thought car' a bit more and rode within the limits of the road, tragedies like this wouldn't happen. Not only has a family been devastated, but also the other innocent drivers using the road that day whose lives are now permanently affected by what they've seen, caused by another man's need for speed. Please bikers, be safe. We all know you must feel terrific exhilaration from travelling fast through our beautiful countryside, but isn't it time you took your speed out in a safer track environment instead and use our roads more sensibly like they were intended? Please 'think car' before any more awful accidents happen. Name and address supplied
