CAN somebody please tell me how on earth there is an 'easy and lazy lifestyle choice' in being unemployed?

And how on earth do unemployed people 'get everything paid for'?

I worked all my life from the age of 15 up until I was widowed at 47 and had a disabled child to care for, when widowed parents benefit was a great help for me and my son.

Now that he is older and trying to be as independent as he can (on ESA of £47 a week, after four years of college), I am having to scrape by on £38 a week Job Seekers Allowance, which includes £8.19 a week for my mortgage (that's nothing but laughable!), with £31 added for my health problems.

My job centre is 30 miles away which involves what feels like huge expenses when I only get a pittance.

I am applying for up to 30 jobs every week, but have only had four (unsuccessful) interviews since June.

Can somebody who is more 'in the know' please tell me what I am missing?
