AN appeal has gone out to try and find help to restore a historic medieval tower in a West Devon village. A recent surveyor's report at All Saints Church in Monkokehampton has highlighted the need for considerable restoration work on the church's medieval tower. This will involve the rebuilding of the parapets and pinnacles as well as repainting the south, east and west faces of the tower and the renewal of much lead work. The cost of the work is estimated to be in excess of £50,000 and the parish of Monkokehampton is appealing for any donations, however large or small to help their cause. The church recently hosted a successful and well attended gift day to raise funds for the tower.
