CHILDREN at Okehampton Primary School have been enjoying new playing equipment recently installed at the school. The range of play equipment which includes slides, play towers and a sand pit cost a total of £40,000. The total revamp of the play equipment for foundation level children will allow the school to better deliver its target of promoting learning through play. Headteacher Brian Cunningham said the school now had ?fantastic equipment? ? but he said they had also had to increase the level of security for the area, by providing additional CCTV. l Devon County Council recently paid tribute to Okehampton Primary School?s lollipop lady Mrs Kelleher for more than ten years service ensuring children get to school safely. Alexandra Kelleher was awarded a silver long service award for 10 years service at a special ceremony for school crossing patrol staff in Exeter last month. Mr Cunningham paid tribute to Mrs Kelleher?s dedication to the job. ?In all weathers, she is out there. It can be a hard job but she never lets us down. She really does care for the children and I am thrilled for her,? he said.
