WALKHAMPTON Pre-School Playgroup will be upgrading its equipment after being awarded a grant from Awards for All.
The playgroup will receive £779, which will help enhance the educational and play opportunities available to the children.
Group secretary Tracy Shaw said they were ?over the moon? with the award. ?We will be buying IT equipment and educational toys, such as small Brio, Compare Bears, a four-sided easel and gardening equipment,? she said.
The playgroup has also recently been awarded a Local Network Fund grant of £817 to replace tables and buy a new laminator and some oriental cookery set.
Around 15 children attend the daily playgroup, which has been in existence for 30 years and has three members of staff. It meets from Monday to Friday from 9am to 12.30pm in Walkhampton Memorial Hall. There is also a toddler club on Wednesdays and Fridays from 10am to noon and a lunch club on weekdays from 12am to 12.30pm.
Places are currently available in the playgroup and there are also places available for unaccompanied two year olds, whether potty trained or not.
