NEW working arrangements between a local school and Tavistock Town Council were last week praised during a meeting in the town.

The council's works superintendent told members of the properties committee that a work placement for a student from Chelfham School had been agreed with his department.

The student had just finished his one-day a week placement after a four-week period, and a new student was now working alongside depot staff.

Cllr Mandy Govier said she was delighted with the placement programme: 'I am really pleased with this, I think it's a really good arrangement.'
