Tavistock 1st 2 Penzance 1 TAVISTOCK were on top from the start, passing the ball well round the midfield and creating numerous chances on goal with neither Honey nor Vinson having the finishing touches. Tavistock continued to pile on the pressure on the less experienced Penzance who could not create anything for themselves, the Tavistock defence clearing up any threat. Tavistock finally made their well deserved breakthrough with a good team goal finished off with the quick reactions of Hawkins to deflect the ball into the back of the net. Another was soon to come from a well-worked move through the midfield and up to Hawkins who put the finishing touches on a good goal. The second half saw Tavistock sit back and watch the away side run at them, creating good chances, fine defensive play from Bellard, Woods and Lethbridge with the tenacious tackling of Carr saw the Hhome side clear their lines. Tavistock continued to battle hard and created chances on goal but still did not have the finishing touches to seal the victory. Instead, the physical Penzance continued to crash their way through the Tavistock midfield - this led to a Penzance player getting sent off for the last ten minutes.
