THE future of films in Okehampton will be discussed at the annual meeting of Okehampton Moving Pictures, the town?s community-run cinema group later this month. Moving Pictures will be meeting in the dining room at the Fountain Hotel in Okehampton on Monday, January 23 at 7.30pm. It will offer the chance to hear what the community cinema has done over the past year and explore possibilities for its future development. Anyone interested in hearing about the work of OMP or who would like to get involved is most welcome to come along. The group was set up by the Okehampton MCTI Locality Group following the closure of the Carlton Cinema two years ago. The next film the group is screening is My Summer of Love (15) on Friday, January 20. The acclaimed film chronicles the all-consuming friendship of of two teenage girls, set against the backdrop of a long, hot English summer. Doors open at the Charter Hall on 7pm with the show starting at 7.30pm.
