CHRIS Hurford returned to the Tavy goal and despite his rare playing opportunities this season put in a sound performance dealing with anything that came his way.
The opening period saw a fairly balanced match with chances arising at both ends, more so to the away team who after several near misses were punished by a Bodmin break.
This saw Hurford?s outstretched dive not enough to stop the ball trickling over the net.
Mary Tavy battled hard to get some foothold of the match but at the half way mark were still facing a one goal deficit.
Dan Brockington, with something to prove after so notoriously being left on the bench in the midweek match, went on to set up two more in a smooth performance.
It was his corner which was met by Shaun James with a forceful header which the keeper, who was outstanding throughout the match, kept out well, only for James to make no mistake from the rebound.
At 2-1 up Tavy did not look back and with defender Andy Maddocks later named man of the match Bodmin found any way back an impossible task.
James did smash a close range effort in but the referee blew for an earlier infringement.
In the final stages of the match it was James Philpotts to take centre stage with a well taken brace, the best being a flicked header which dropped in the very top corner giving the home keeper no chance.
