FORMER Tavistock College student Tim Houghton (right) has graduated with a PhD in mechanical engineering from Cambridge University, and recently started work at Fraser Nash, consultant engineers, in Bristol.

His parents expressed thanks to everyone who helped him along the way – Whitchurch Playgroup and primary school, Sunningdale Nursery, cub and scout leaders, music teachers and sailors at Weir Quay and in Plymouth. The 'inspirational' maths and science teachers at Tavistock College opened his eyes to future possibilities.
